Guardian
Marine NZ first produced the range of Anchor
Buddy anchor weights in 1995. They are now
available worldwide. The Director, Lou West is a
keen sailor and has been around boats for almost
half a century!
He wanted to revive a 2000 year old method of
safe, secure anchoring that has been used for
generations. The use of an anchor weight.
His purpose was to design and develop a range of
modern, high-tech, very easy to use anchor
weights that would suit boats with all chain as
well as rope anchoring and required no tools to
put them on.
A large number of cruising yachties take our
anchor weights to the Pacific each year.
Skippers of fishing vessels say they can now
stay 'on their spot'! Owners of high winded
vessels say the boat behaves much better at
anchor. Many who have previously sat up all
night, wondering if they are going to drag, say
they can now sleep much easier. |
It
seems boating has become so technical. There are many
gadgets for boats but not one helps the anchor dig in
more securely.
It is time to get back to the basics of good
seamanship and using an anchor weight for safe, secure
anchoring.

Warranty
We
are extremely proud of our product and hope it exceeds
all your expectations.
All
component parts are warranted to the original
purchaser, to be free from any defects in materials or
workmanship.
Since
conditions of use are beyond the manufacturer's
control, we do not assume any liability in connection
with the performance or from injury or damage from
use. Our warranty does not cover normal wear and tear
or breakage caused by misuse or abuse.
It
does not cover any damage caused by corrosion if the Kiwi Anchor Rider
/ Anchor Buddy anchor weight has been taken apart and
not re-assembled using Lanacote (or a similar product)
to coat all surfaces of the nuts, bolts and holes.
We suggest the Kiwi Anchor Rider / Anchor Buddy anchor
weights, and the rope around the handle, are washed in
fresh water periodically to prevent salt encrustation.
We are pleased to report that when we dismantled an
Anchor Buddy after 5 years continuous use, it showed
no sign of corrosion whatsoever.
